Read Luke 11:46-52
This Hypocrisy Has Got To Stop.
Jesus says “WOE” to the teachers of the law because they were building tombs for the prophets killed in times past. It was their ancestors who killed them. The fact they are now building tombs for them, Jesus accuses them of approving of the killings of the prophets. This has been a vicious cycle with the teachers of the law killing the prophets, and God declares in his wisdom that this cycle will continue for God will send prophets and apostles who will declare his redemption and the Pharisees and the teachers of the law will kill them as their ancestors did. The Pharisees and the teachers of the law will be blind to the truth just as their ancestors were and will act all righteous in their actions while being people of hypocrisy.
We see how, generation after generation, people were trapped in a world of hypocrisy. The question is, when is this going to stop? We read this and think we would never kill The Messengers of God today. However, when we are blind to the truth and don’t live as Christ has called us, we not only are being misled but we mislead others, including our families, from believing the truth of Jesus.
This hypocrisy has got to stop. We have to be a generation that says I will follow Jesus with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. We have to have a hunger and thirst, not just for God’s word but for his righteousness so that we can lead our families and lead today’s generation to follow Jesus without the hypocrisy.
God forgive me when I act in a hypocritical manner. I want to promote Christ not just with my words but with my whole life.
