Read Luke 10:21-24
I Want Others To Experience Your Power And Authority.
After the 72 followers of Jesus returned to Jesus, having performed many miracles and healings, they reported to Jesus what all had happened. Jesus, filled with joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you father, Lord of heaven and Earth, because you’ve hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”
Jesus then declared that it pleased God to reveal his truth and power, not through the so-called wise and educated people like the Pharisees, teachers of the law, and chief priest, but instead, through little children, those we least expected, like the fishermen and uneducated people.
Why?
The so-called educated people, like the Pharisees, teachers of the law, and chief priest, had prideful and arrogant hearts and exalted themselves above others. They were blind to God’s truth and therefore the power of God was not seen in their lives. The followers of Jesus, on the other hand, are like little children. They were humble and very open to the truth. Their hearts were broken before God and willing to be used by God. As a result, God’s power was displayed in and through their lives. They got to see and hear what most people wished they could have seen and heard.
We have that same opportunity. Do we want to make our faith walk all about us or all about Jesus? Then come to Jesus with hearts like little children: a humble heart. A heart open to the truth; a broken heart willing to be used by God with his power and authority.
Jesus, forgive me when I let pride in. Keep me humble. Give me a hunger and thirst for your word and truth. I yield my heart and pray your Holy Spirit will use me and display his power and authority through me in order to reach lost people who are held in bondage by the lies and deceptions of the world. May your power be displayed through Me For Your Glory! Amen!
