Read Lamentations Chapter 3
There Is Hope!
Jeremiah is lamenting on behalf of the people of Judah over their destruction from God. He uses words such as: God’s Wrath, he draws me away, his hand is against me, hardship, weighed down. His prayers are blocked, his heart is pierced, people mock him, he is downcast.
After reflecting on all he and Judah have been through and with all they are feeling, Jeremiah says, “I have hope!”
Even in your worst situations, there’s always hope. Read the verses below because they say it better than I ever could. Read it and reread it. Soak in the words he speaks to you regarding your situation.
Vs 22-26:
“[22] Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. [23] They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. [24] I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” [25] The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; [26] it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
No matter how dark things look there is hope. Are you in the hospital? Is your loved one in the hospital? Has a loved one recently died? Did you lose your job? Is it hard to pay your bills? Are you in a broken relationship? Have you been falsely accused? Are you wrestling with something for your future? Seek the Lord and wait patiently. His compassions never fail. They are new every morning!
