Read Lamentations Chapter 2
Whose Vision Are You Following?
Vs 1: God’s anger is over his children because of their sins. Vs 2: He shows no pity and has torn down their strongholds. Vs 4: His wrath is poured out. Vs 9: God’s people no longer have a vision from the Lord for their lives. Vs 14: In the past, the vision they did follow, was not from God, but from evil or misguided leaders. Vs 19: God tells his children in Judah to, “Arise, cry out to the Lord. Pour out your heart. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children.”
How are you doing today? Whose vision are you following? God’s or yours? You have two options and only one is correct. It doesn’t matter how many people support “YOUR” decision. If it’s not from God it’s destructive. God wants the best for you. Listen to his voice and not your flesh. Just as God was concerned about how the people’s decisions affected their children, so is he concerned how our decisions affect our children, or those who look up to us.
We live in a world today where kids are exposed to a lot of garbage. Many schools promote immoral doctrines that go against the Lord. Friends have a powerful influence on your children’s beliefs and mold them in morals that often hurt their relationship with the Lord. What spiritual food are your kids getting? What are you role modeling for them? How important is church to them? The Bible? Prayer? Do you pray with your kids to feed their souls? What do you let your kids watch on tv? What do you watch on tv? Does it feed their spirit or just the opposite?
If you are confused about whose vision you are following, then do as Judah was told to do: ARISE, cry out to the lord. Pour out your heart. He will hear your voice and reveal his plan / vision for your lives. When he does, follow it 100%. With all your heart. Make the necessary sacrifices! And lift up your hands, not just for your sake, but for the sake of your children. In the name of Jesus let us fight for our souls, and the souls of others, including our children’s
