Let Love Drive Us To Share Jesus!
People heard Jesus’s words and concluded that he was more than just an average man. There was something special about him. Some said he was a prophet. Some people said he was the Messiah. Some said he couldn’t have been the Messiah cuz they thought Jesus was from Galilee. They new the Messiah had to be a descendant of David and from Bethlehem. This shows their ignorance because Jesus was a descendant of David and was from Bethlehem.
The Temple Guards, who were sent by the chief priests and Pharisees to arrest Jesus, returned to the chief priests and Pharisees without Jesus. When confronted, they replied, “No one ever spoke the way this man does.”
Nicodemus, one of the priests and Pharisees, defended Jesus by saying he deserves to be heard before being condemned.” This resulted in the other chief priests and Pharisees verbally abusing him.
When we stand up for Jesus and follow him faithfully, we will always get different responses from different people.
1. Some will say Jesus was just a mere man.
2. Some will say he was a good man.
3. Some will say he was a prophet.
These three responses only minimizes what Jesus really was. He was the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior of the world. To conclude anything less than the Son of God, degrades him of his divinity.
4. Some will make false accusations about Jesus while thinking they know more about Jesus than you do.
5. Some will abuse you verbally and even physically.
6. Some will believe Jesus was/is the Messiah! It will be a small percentage of people so is it worth sharing Jesus while risking being persecuted? Yes! Because Jesus loves everyone and died for everyone. So may we love them also and love them enough to share Jesus with them despite the consequences. Let true love drive us to share Jesus just as it drew Jesus to the cross.
