Read John 7:37-39
The Greatest Gift Ever!
Vs 37-39a: “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of Living water will flow from within them.’ By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.”
This Holy Spirit has since been poured out among all who believe in him. It started at Pentecost and has continued on throughout history and will continue on till the day of Jesus’s return.
Lord, help me grasp what it truly means to have the Spirit of the Living God in my life! Empower me with your Holy Spirit, as you did at Pentecost, so that I am able to boldly and with great confidence walk faithfully with you and boldly and confidently speak and live Jesus to those around me. Empower me and remind me that I am able to overcome any sin, addiction, or obstacle in life that hinders my walk with you. God forgive me when I try to do things on my own. Forgive me when I try to be in control. Forgive me when I put Faith In My own abilities and not in you who created me. Let the evidence of my Spirit-filled Life be a testimony of your transforming power so when people see me they realize I have something they don’t have and that they want it. Help me walk in victory and to be an overcomer as only you can do! And thank you for the greatest gift ever, your Holy Spirit!
