Read John 7:25-32
Now That’s A Breath Of Fresh Air!
Well Jesus was speaking in the temple courts, some people were asking, “Isn’t this the man they’re trying to kill?” “Have the authorities concluded that he is the Messiah?” Some people were adamant that Jesus wasn’t the Messiah because they said he came from Joseph and Mary and not from God. Jesus again explains that he came here not on his own authority. In other words I feel he was conveying the message that, yes, I came to Earth through the womb of a woman, but it was ordained by God his father. Not Joseph.
The chief priests and the Pharisees actually sent guards to arrest Jesus while some people tried to seize him, but neither were successful because it wasn’t Jesus’s time yet. Despite all the opposition, there were many in the crowd who believed in Jesus!
Now there’s a breath of fresh air! Jesus stood before thousands of people and many opposed him, hated him, wanted to arrest him, and wanted to kill him…BUT!!!!! “There were many in the crowd who believed in Jesus!” Excuse me but this one deserves a time of praise and worship. If all of Heaven can celebrate One soul coming to Jesus, then how much more should we be praising and worshiping the Lord for a crowd of people believing in Jesus?
Let this be a reminder that doing the work of the Lord can be hard work, while facing opposition, but God’s word does not come back void – Isaiah 55:11. It always accomplishes what God intended it to. Sometimes it PLANTS a seed. Sometimes it WATERS the seed. But sometimes it PRODUCES FRUIT, the Salvation of Souls. It’s then that we need to be reminded that all the work we did was worth it. Never give up praying for someone. Never give up loving and encouraging others. Always persevere hardships and endure through the pain and opposition. Always trust God and his Spirits leading. Seeds ARE being planted. Seeds ARE getting watered. And Seeds are blossoming into fruit – Salvation of Souls! To me, that’s a breath of fresh air and there should be a lot of Praising and Worshiping and giving of Thanks to the Lord!
