Jesus, There Must Be More.
There was a Pharisee, named Nicodemus, who came to Jesus at night. Why at night? Nicodemus was a Pharisee unlike the other Pharisees. He saw something in Jesus that the other Pharisees didn’t see. He had to know more because He knew there was more to the “story.”
Nicodemus saw Jesus performing miracles and came to the conclusion that Jesus was from God. He was searching for answers and probably felt afraid to seek Jesus during the daytime, in public, for fear of his Pharisee “friends” attacking him in some way.
Nicodemus saw Jesus as a Teacher so his understanding of who Jesus really was was lacking. I admire his hunger for truth. He was cautious and fearful, but he sought to know more. He went directly to Jesus to find answers.
In a small way, I kind of feel like Nicodemus. I’m coming to the end of 2025 and soon to enter 2026. I have experienced the work of God in and through my life. I’ve seen miracles and transformations in peoples’ lives. But recently I have been coming to Jesus feeling “There must be more!”
I’m grateful for all Jesus has done in 2025 but I honestly feel God wants to do so much more in 2026. So, I’m broken inside. I come to him humbly and with a searching and surrendered heart. I have been praying for God to show me how he wants to use me in 2026. Am I willing to be broken? Yes! Do I like being broken? No, but I see the necessity of it so I can become less and Jesus can become more. Am I willing to suffer and be persecuted for my faith? I have thought this through many times and my answer is yes! I’ve told the Lord I’m willing to suffer and even die for my faith, but I would need his grace to help me because I can’t do it on my own strength. So Jesus, I ask you with all my heart, show me your will and your desires for my life in 2026! I hunger for more of you!
