Do You Need To Be Reinstated In God’s Calling?
Jesus appears to his disciples a third time. The disciples are out fishing in the Sea Of Galilee. Jesus is on the shore. The disciples are close to shore after not catching any fish all night. Jesus calls out to them and asks if they caught any fish and they answered no. They did not recognize Jesus who then said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” They listened and immediately caught 153 large fish. John immediately knew it was Jesus and told Peter. Peter jumped out of the boat and swam to shore while the rest of the disciples brought in the boat with the fish.
I find it interesting, when Jesus first called Peter, and some of the other disciples, to follow him. It was when he told them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat and many fish were caught. That was a miracle he did at the beginning. I can’t help but think Jesus “reinstated” this particular miracle as a way of “reinstating” them to be fishers of Men, to reach lost souls.
We can give testimonies of miracles during our early walk with the Lord. Miracles he did in our own lives, in ministry, and in the lives of others. Have you ever looked back and thought, “Wow, those were the good old days?” If you experienced miracles, then those were indeed good days, but Jesus is still wanting to do miracles in and through us today.
Have we gotten relaxed in our spiritual walk? Have we lost focus of God’s calling on our lives: to reach lost souls?
The disciples went back to fishing, but that wasn’t God’s call on their lives. Jesus had to get them refocused. Do we need refocused? Don’t let our testimony of God’s miracles be something of the past. Let God reinstate his calling today so we can share the new miracles of God’s transforming power everyday.
