Read John 15:22-25
Take Responsibility And Quit Blaming Others.
Jesus made comments that could be very confusing.
Vs 22: “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.”
Vs 24: “If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin.
When I read the scriptures I see two types of sin:
1. GENERAL SIN: General Sin is the sin that we are all guilty of because the law was given so we would know what commands we were to keep in order to be declared righteous. But all people have failed to abide by these commands so therefore we are all guilty, and Hell is our punishment.
2. THE SIN OF REJECTION: The Old Testament prophesied of the coming Savior, Messiah, Redeemer. He would do great miracles. He would bring good news to the poor. He would speak words of righteousness and proclaim repentance of sins for salvation. Ll
This passage is speaking about the Sin Of Rejection. The Jews were experiencing the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies right in their midst. And they rejected him with such hateredness. They were guilty of rejecting the Messiah, the Son of God.
If the Jews hadn’t seen or heard this fulfillment of scripture they would not have been guilty of rejecting him. They still would have been guilty of not keeping the Law, but woe to those who hear and see the gospel and still reject it.
We all will be held accountable for our own faith walk with Jesus. We won’t be able to blame anyone else for our lack of faith or lack of commitment to Jesus. We won’t be able to blame our parents for our lack of commitment because they NEVER TOOK US to church or because they FORCED US to go to church.
Put your big boy pants or big girl pants on and take responsibility for your lack of commitment and your rejection of the work of Christ. Quit Blaming Others.
