Jesus Is Here! How Will You Respond?
Jesus entered into Jerusalem on a donkey’s colt. When people heard Jesus was coming, they met him with palm branches and clothing laid out before Jesus. They praised him as a king and accepted him as the Messiah. Only they didn’t know what that really meant.
The Pharisees saw the evidence of a king and a Messiah but they saw him as a threat worthy of being killed.
Jesus rode in on a donkey’s colt signifying a gentle King being gracious and merciful. As opposed to coming in on a horse and chariot signifying a dictator, judge, or warrior out to destroy. His objective was to save the people from something far worse than the Roman government. It’s called, “SIN!”
If Jesus was coming through your town tomorrow, how would you respond? Would you escort him through town? Better yet, would you get the police and fire trucks to help you escort him through town as a way of showing great honor to him? Even better yet, would you get on social media and promote this great event in hopes of gathering people all around the world to come and stand along Main Street and praise him as he came through town? Would it be hard for you to contain your excitement? Would your excitement exceed the excitement you showed when your favorite team won the Super Bowl?
Yes, I want you to get excited about Jesus coming through your town but guess what? He actually lives and dwells within every follower of his. Do you understand? He lives within you!!!!! So let us be excited about this relationship that we have with him. Don’t wait till he comes through town before you start to share him with others. Do it now. Be intentional about it. Be excited! Don’t be ashamed. Let people see Jesus in you and let them hear what you have to say about him as well.
If you’re going through town tomorrow, remember, Jesus is going with you. Put a smile on your face and be excited that people get to see and hear him through you.
