Read John 11:38-44
Quit Arguing With Jesus.
Jesus was greatly moved by the death of Lazarus. He and Mary and Martha, along with the Jews giving support, went to the tomb where Lazarus was laid. Jesus gave orders to take away the stone that covered the tomb. The sister of Lazarus, Martha, objected to what Jesus asked. She argued that there would be an odor coming from the tomb. But Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” It was then that the people saw the miracle of Lazarus coming from the tomb, raised from the dead.
How often do I fight or argue with Jesus? As I struggle with life, do I see hope for the future? Or am I locked into negativity? Martha argued with Jesus when Jesus said to remove the stone. She couldn’t see how necessary it was in order for her to experience the miracle of Jesus.
What is Jesus asking you to remove so you can experience his coming miracle versus arguing with him?
Is he wanting to remove fear or doubt? Is he asking us to remove our impatient and defeated attitude while persevering through the obstacles?
God, forgive me for arguing with you versus persevering through the obstacles of life and trusting you to do a needed miracle.
