Do You Believe In Jesus. Prove It!
Then came the Festival of dedication in Jerusalem. Jesus was in the temple court and Jews gathered around Jesus asking, “If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus responded, “I did tell you but you don’t believe.” The works and miracles Jesus performed was his way of saying, “I am the Messiah” because he was fulfilling Old Testament prophecy. His life gave evidence of him being the Messiah.
Jesus could have said, “I’m the Messiah.” And you know what, I can tell any and everyone I’m a follower of Christ. I can tell them I’m a professional football player. I could even tell them I build skyscrapers. There’s a good chance you won’t believe everything I say because I will have no evidence of me playing professional football. I will have no evidence of any buildings or skyscrapers that I have built. So my words will mean nothing. When I claim to be a follower of Christ, then there should be fruit that gives evidence of my faith in Jesus.
Anyone can claim to be the Messiah. Whoever does better be able to produce the evidence that reinforces one’s claims. Jesus had all kinds of evidence that proved he was the Messiah. But the Jews rejected both his words and his actions of proof.
So do you believe in Jesus as the Messiah? If you truly believe, then truly live the life that gives evidence of that belief.
