Read Jeremiah Chapter 48
Be A Hard Worker For Jesus.
God prophesied against the nation Moab saying they would be destroyed. There will be great cries of great anguish. They put trust in their own deeds and riches. They were very busy building their own kingdom rather than God’s Kingdom. God said they were LAX in doing HIS work.
In the Bible we see that many kings had fallen, or were humbled, or even killed because they sat in their beautiful homes and in arrogance said, “Look at all I’ve done.” Daniel 4:30-33 is a great example of that.
We have a lot of good, well-meaning people, who work very hard and have a lot of money and possessions to show for it. But they missed the mark. They worked very hard for their Kingdom and have been very LAX in doing God’s work. I pat them on the back for their hard work and drive for success, but I’m sad that they’re doing it for the wrong reason. Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
I think we all need to be hard workers, Proverbs 6:6-9, and have a drive for success in whatever we do, but may we never forget to do it all for the glory of God.
