Read Jeremiah Chapter 47
I Never Mess Up!
God prophesied that the Philistines will face destruction. They have been an enemy of the Israelites for a long time and had the reputation of being a strong powerhouse. But they served false gods. They were wicked people so God promised their destruction.
It’s so easy to point the finger at the weaknesses and faults of others. 1 Corinthians 10:12 and Galatians 6:1-6 are humbling reminders that those who think they are better than others, should be careful, because they too will one day fall.
James 2:12-13 reminds us that showing Mercy is the best approach versus becoming judgmental with arrogance.
Woe to me if my arrogance concludes that I am better than those who have fallen into sin. It’s only a matter of time that I too will fall. I want people to show me mercy when I fall. I want them to come alongside me and encourage me back into Faith with the Lord and be restored into a right relationship with him. So if that’s how I want to be treated, then let me do the same to others. God said that Mercy triumphs over his judgment. God will show Mercy to those who show Mercy.
