Read Jeremiah Chapter 29
God Is Still At Work Amongst Our Chaos.
This chapter is a message of hope. The people from Jerusalem are in captivity in Babylon their enemy. God put them there because of their sin. But God is still with them and still has a plan while they are in captivity. His plan is to still give them peace during their unfortunate predicament.
There are periods of our own lives when we feel we are being held captive by the devil. It may be consequences of our own life decisions. As a result we are in a broken state, in chaos, we feel God is far away and there is no hope. But God is still in control and his desire is to see us return to him in full force. May we take heed to the same advice God gave to the Israelites:
1. While in our turmoil we must not live in hopelessness. We must live our lives as if all is “normal.” It’s a step of faith. It’s a way of acknowledging that God is in control. That he wants to fulfill his plan for our lives. A plan where we prosper and have hope. So get out of bed in the morning. Go to work. Make money. Meet with God. Have Fellowship. Have times of celebration. Don’t let your captive state destroy your spirit. God is on the move!
2. Pray for peace and prosperity. He wants to give us peace in our Brokenness. Though we may feel we failed he still has a plan that will prosper for the kingdom of heaven. That’s HOPE!
3. Keep praying. Keep seeking. In due time he will reveal his plan.
