Read Hosea Chapter 8
Life is a Whirlwind.
God calls Israel out on their rebellion and sin. They’ve made so many decisions and have left God out. They are so wrapped up into meeting their lustful desires versus God’s desires. As a result, God’s anger Burns against them. He says they will face the whirlwind of God. Their crops won’t grow. They will lose battles against their enemies. They will continue to fall further and further away from the Lord because of being fixated on self and not God. God’s Wrath is coming and it will be a whirlwind they won’t be able to fight against.
The whirlwind of God is nothing we want to contend with. We’ll lose every time. If we’re not going to walk with the Lord, but instead be distracted by the pleasures of the world or allow ourselves to stay trapped in our addictions, then consequences will occur.
Surrender is an ongoing remedy to dealing with the obstacles and temptations of life. We need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to help us walk in TRUTH and HOLINESS. The last thing we need is STUBBORNNESS because that’s what sets us up for the life of a whirlwind. We’ll see chaos around every corner of life. It will affect our jobs, our family, our spiritual well-being, our friendships, etc. Daily surrendering life’s turmoils to the Lord is what enables you to have victories in life and be able to overcome the obstacles and whirlwinds of life.
