Read Hosea Chapter 3
Am I a Prostitute?
God tells Hosea to go back to Gomer again even though she is committing adultery with another married man. God uses this relationship to show how even though Israel is steeped into spiritual adultery, the Lord still loves the people of Israel.
So Hosea bought Gomer for himself. He paid a price for her to get her back. In appreciation for him buying her back, it should have inspired Gomer to give her life totally to Hosea demonstrated by being faithful to him.
Kind of like how Jesus saw us in our broken state, and he paid a price for our souls by giving his life. We should be so appreciative of what Christ has done for us that we are driven to want to serve him faithfully without seeking fulfillment through any other means.
But is that true for us? Or are we like a “prostitute” because we want to enjoy the pleasures of this world versus being sold out and 100% faithful to the Lord our God?
Can you see how great the Lord’s love is for you? He’s calling you to himself! He Loves You!!
