Read Hosea Chapter 14
What’s The Bottom Line?
God’s call is for Israel to return to him. But let’s make this personal. Let’s read this chapter as if God is speaking directly to us.
Vs 1 – RETURN: God calls for us to return to him. He sees that we stumble when we engage in sin.
Vs 2 – WORDS OF LIFE: He calls us to “Take words of life” to him. Share Words of Love to the Lord. We want people to share loving words with us. How much do we do that to the Lord? When’s the last time you said to the Lord, I love you! I love you so much!
REPENT: Say to the Lord “Take away my sin.” Actually have a desire to repent from your sins.
RECEIVE ME GRACIOUSLY: May we long for the Lord and for him to receive us with so much grace and love. And when he does I will not be able to keep myself from presenting “the fruits of my lips.” I will express words of Praise, Worship, and Thanksgiving.
Vs 3 – MY SAVIOR: I also acknowledge that you alone are my savior and no one else. I will put my trust in you and you alone!
Vs 4-6 – GROWTH: God declares as we draw near to him, he will draw near to us. We will grow and bear fruit. He will help us be the godly person he called us to be.
Vs 9 – THE BOTTOM LINE: Verse 9 gives The Bottom Line. Read it slowly and grasp it: UNDERSTAND and KNOW God’s word. Because it’s God’s words that are right and righteous. We must learn to WALK in them, OBEY them, and put them into PRACTICE. Otherwise we will stumble and fall in sin.
