What Are You Going To Do About It?
The people of Ephraim turned from God, they had no fear of God, Worshiped Baal and Purchased handmade Idols to worship. Some experienced so many blessings from God that they became confident in themselves and turned from God.
There were different factors that influenced the people of Ephraim to turn from God that are relevant for us today. Let’s look at some of them.
1. It Is The Norm. If you live in a society where something is very commonly seen or heard, it becomes easy to conclude that the “Commonalities of Life” are truth or worthy of following.
What are the COMMONALITIES in your world today?
2. Peer Pressure. When those around us, especially our friends, are following a lifestyle that opposes God, it becomes very easy to fall into their way of living.
3. How We Are Raised. How parents live becomes a huge factor on how their children will live. For example, if a parent hates authorities, struggles with addictions, or has a foul mouth, then it’s likely their children will too. Such behaviors will be seen as normal.
4. Successes in Life. For those who are very gifted or have experienced many blessings, can easily become prideful and self-confident, resulting in the feeling of not needing God.
Knowing all of this, What Are You Going To Do About It? Here are some Strong Suggestions:
1. Choose this day who you will serve, the Lord or the world.
2. Once you choose to follow Christ, be responsible and surround yourself with positive influences, be invested in prayer and and in God’s Word.
3. Be committed which means being willing to give up friendships or pleasures of this world.
4. There needs to be an intervention: your family or friends that promote a lifestyle that opposes God needs an intervention to help point them to the Lord Jesus. They need someone willing to take Jesus to their lost world. May we Christians be willing to be used by God and take the love of Jesus to the lost so that they can see and experience the love and truth of Christ and be influenced to receive Jesus into their lives.
