Read Ezekiel Chapter 7
The End Has Come. It’s Over!
Eight times the prophet Ezekiel mentioned how the end has come for Israel. The wrath of God will now fall upon the people. God said I will unleash my anger against you. I will judge you. I will show no pity. I will not spare you. A disaster will come – an unheard of disaster. Then you’ll know that I am the Lord.
Can you imagine standing before God on judgment Day and hearing these words, “The end has come! It’s over!” Only to face the wrath of God. This is a scary thought.
What about on Earth? I have had “The end has come” or “It’s over” experiences.
1. When I disobeyed my dad, he was quick to put things to an end. Ouch!
2. Running was very important to me until I chipped a bone and tore a tendon in my knee. Then it was over for a number of years.
3. When I broke up with my girlfriend it was over.
4. When a different girlfriend broke up with me, the end had come.
5. When I broke my back it was over but not forever.
When we face God on Judgment Day, the end has come. There are no second chances.
But on Earth, there’s always hope regardless of our “it’s over” experiences.
In our darkest moments we are either drawn closer to the Lord, or fight against him.
I pray that during your “It’s Over” experiences, that Christ be what’s most important to you. Christ is near you today, so don’t let go. My personal “It’s over” experiences often took me in a different direction for the Lord. He used these experiences to conform me more into the image of Christ and gave me a new vision for him. I pray that for you.
