Read Ezekiel Chapter 6
Remember That God is Lord!
Ezekiel prophesied that God will destroy all their high places and altars where they sacrificed to their false gods. Many will die in front of their idols that they put their trust in. God will smash all their idols. Then they will know that God is Lord. To those who escape the enemy’s sword, will remember the Lord.
“They will be GRIEVED by their adulterous hearts for turning away from God.”
“They will be GRIEVED by their eyes which lusted after their idols.”
“They will loathe themselves (have intense disgust) for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices.”
Have you been going through a tough time spiritually? Have you forgotten that God is the Lord? Have you replaced your love for the Lord for something or someone else? Have you allowed your eyes to lust for something or someone else?
I get it! We all get sidetracked spiritually. It’s easy to happen. But do we come to our senses and “remember that God is Lord?” Do we grieve over our sin? Do we have an intense disgust (loathe) for that which replaced our love for the Lord? Are you at a place in your heart where you can say, “I remember that the Lord is God!”?
Not only do you remember that the Lord is God but your heart is broken before him saying, “Lord, I’m back. Clean me up! Make me a new person? Use me again for your kingdom.”
We all have a story. We all have a testimony. God wants to use it to reach others for him. We have a testimony, not so we can sit in church on Sunday and leave but so God can use it to help others draw near to him and come to know that God is the Lord!
