Read Ezekiel Chapter 5
Transformation Starts With A Renewed Mind.
God has Ezekiel shave his head and beard as a way of showing the type of judgment that will come against Israel. Israel was sinning worse than the evil Nations around them. They didn’t just conform to the nations evil ways, they were even worse. They rejected God’s warnings so God’s Wrath was inevitable. God told Ezekiel, when the siege is over, he is to take the hair and do the following:
1. Burn a third of the hair throughout the city telling the people that a third of them will die from plagues and famine.
2. Take a third of the hair and strike it with the sword, telling the people that a third of them will die from the enemy’s sword.
3. Scatter a third of the hair to the wind as a way of telling the people a third of them will be scattered all around but then pursued and killed by the enemy.
We have a similar problem today in our world. People want to live their life how they want. God tells us not to conform to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:1-2), but be transformed by the renewing of our minds which results into a renewed and transformed life for the Lord.
CONFORMING to the evil ways of life, ends in God’s wrath. Do we fear that? We are talking about an eternal punishment.
But being TRANSFORMED into the Life of Christ should be our hearts desire. But it starts with how we think. Transformation starts with a renewed way of thinking.
What are the obstacles of your life? Change how you think about these temptations or obstacles. Don’t let your mind be enticed by the obstacles or temptations against your faith, for you will fall into sin every time. Pray God gives you such an INTENSE HATREDNESS for that which entices you so you want NOTHING to do with it. Then pray God gives you a love for that which is right or righteous so that your life is transformed into the image of Christ rather than conformed to the pattern of this world.
God, help us ALL have a RENEWED way of thinking.
