Read Ezekiel Chapter 48
The Lord Is There.
God has given a vision to Ezekiel for the Temple. A great deal of detail has gone into how it is to be built. God even described how the land around the Temple was to be divided amongst the 12 tribes, the Lord (the priests and Levites and workers of the city), and the prince. He also gives detailed descriptions of all the different Gates that the people are to enter through when going to the Temple.
After all the instructions were given, when all was said and done, God ended by saying, “The city would be called ‘The Lord is there!'”
“The Lord is There!” Isn’t that what it should be called? What more appropriate name could it be? None! Because there is no greater name that it could be called. If you called it “Blair is There” or “I am There” you have replaced THE ONE AND ONLY GOD with a god. And we don’t even want to think that serving another god is okay!
What would God have to say about the throne of our hearts? What do we hold most important in our lives? When God looks at the throne of my heart does he say, “The Lord is There?” Or does he see someone or something else there instead?
What consumes your thought life? What do you put most of your energy into? Are you on the throne of your heart because you want to be in control. Do you have a love for someone else that consumes more of your energy and your love for God? Are you trapped into an addiction that you can’t break away? Who is on the throne of your heart? Only you and God know.
Lord, help me keep you number one overall creation. Forgive me when I place something or someone else on the throne of my heart. Help me stay faithful to you! I want to hear you say, “The Lord is There!”
