Read Ezekiel Chapter 45
Lord, Here Am I, Send Me!
After God gave instructions for the Temple, he then gave instructions for the distribution of the land around the temple. When it came to the distribution of the land God was first. A holy portion of land was to be set aside for the Lord and to be used by the priests and Levites who would be doing the work of the Lord in the temple. Then a portion was to be set aside for the prince, the leader over the people. The remaining portion of the land would be for the people of Israel.
Notice the chain of authority.
1. God is to be our ultimate authority. We must follow the Lord always. He has established commands and laws for us to follow. They are all established in the foundation of love. They are created not to destroy our fun but to protect us from evil and destruction. They were established for our safety and our protection. That is LOVE!
2. The religious leaders, the priest and Levites, are next in command and are to role model God’s Truth for the rest of God’s people. The moment a religious leader eliminates even 1% of God’s truth, they give the devil an open door to create a truth surrounded by lies and deception which mislead God’s people.
3. The prince or King is next in authority. He is a role model for the rest of the people to follow. He is to ensure that God’s truth is being carried out by the people. He is to show Justice and righteousness. He’s to judge the people according to the righteousness of God. The moment the prince or King loses the Focus of God’s truth, it too opens the door to destruction amongst the people.
4. The people are to carry out God’s laws amongst their families. As soon as we have a breakdown in leadership, it affects our families. Parents, we are to be role models to our children. We have a big responsibility.
There has definitely been a breakdown between God’s leadership and families. We see it today growing worse and worse. There are broken homes, broken churches, the lack of Truth, Justice, and Righteousness. As a result, sin runs rampant.
Like Isaiah, God wanted to send him into a lost world. Isaiah responded, “Here am I Lord, send me!”
Who is willing to stand up for God’s truth? We need religious leaders, authority figures, parents, and children who are willing to take a stand for the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, who is willing to go be the light in a dark world?
Lord, here am I, send me!
