Read Ezekiel Chapter 39
Restoration is a Process.
Once again, God tells Gog, and the six nations with them, when they go against Israel, they will die and become food for the birds and the wild animals. Why? Because God is working towards restoring Israel back with him.
Here’s a little history explaining where Israel is currently at:
At one time Israel had been unfaithful to the Lord. Then God allowed them to be defeated by their enemies. Those who escaped death were scattered among the surrounding Nations. But God began to show his compassion and began to gather his people back to the destroyed Israel so they could be restored back with him.
Restoration is a process. I identified six steps Israel went through before reaching restoration.
1. Unfaithful: Israel was unfaithful to God when they sinned against him.
2. Broken: They ignored God’s call for holiness so God allowed them to be broken by the enemy.
3. Lost: In their Brokenness, they felt no hope. They felt lost forever.
4. Compassion: Israel turned back to the Lord and he showed his compassion on them and began to work toward restoration.
5. Cleansing: They had to go through a cleansing process for themselves before they could be totally restored with the Lord.
6. Restoration: They reach a point where they are totally reconnected to the Lord God. God pours his Spirit upon them, and they walk in true faithfulness and holiness with God.
Where are you at in your life as it relates to these six steps? Are you walking faithfully with God? Have you been unfaithful and now are in a broken state? Perhaps even feeling lost with no hope? Turn to the Lord God and he will show compassion on you. He will take you through a cleansing process. It won’t be fun. But it’ll be awesome! The good news is: RESTORATION is coming!!!
