Read Ezekiel Chapter 38
Who Would Have Thought?
God prophesies against Gog, the land of Magog. He will bring them out with their whole army and with mighty shields, swords, helmets, and horses. Even other nations, Cush, Persia, Put, Gomer, Beth, and Togamah, will fight with them. All of them will come against an unprotected nation, Israel, to overcome them and plunder them.
But God promises them that they will fail. He will send an earthquake along with torrents of rain, hailstones, and burning sulfur on all the nations against Israel. God will execute his judgment upon them with plagues and bloodshed. Then they will know that God is the Lord for he will show his Greatness and Holiness.
Who would have thought that so many nations against one unprotected Nation would have all been defeated? But God did as he said he would do and showed the unbelievers who the real God is!
“Who would have thought?” I truly believe we all have “Who would have thought?” Stories. Lots of them. As I look at my life over the 60 plus years, I can’t help but thank God for what he has done in and through my life. I had a good family. I had friends. As I got older in school I was bullied. 9th and 10th grade were my two worst years. My self-esteem was destroyed. I didn’t like myself. I felt others DEFINITELY didn’t like me. In my lowest moments, if someone would have said, “God will use you to be an encouragement to the hurting, and use you as a speaker in different parts of the world, to proclaim the salvation and hope and healing power of God”, I would have laughed. Who would have thought?
2 Corinthians 1:26-29 says, God will use the least of us to accomplish his great and holy work to bring glory to his name.
What’s your story? God can take your story and use it to proclaim his greatness and holiness and point people to Jesus and bring glory to his name. Don’t let Satan keep you in the Brokenness of your life circumstances, but let God raise you from your Brokenness as a testimony of how he can use the broken people to proclaim his great salvation.
