Read Ezekiel Chapter 22
Who Will Stand In The Gap With Me?
God declares judgment against Judah for all their bloodshed against the innocent and for worshiping idols. In fact, God has a LONG LIST of evil that they have done and is very specific about it.
God declares his coming Wrath but because of his love for the people he asks: “Who will stand in the Gap with me?” In other words, who is willing to go against everything the culture says is acceptable, and live according to my Word, and be an instrument God can use to help turn lost souls to Him?
In 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 and Romans 12:1-2, God calls Christians to be different than their environment. In Isaiah 6:8, he asks Isaiah the prophet, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And Isaiah said, “Here am I. Send me!”
May we have that same desire! “God send me.” Send me to my school, my workplace, my family, my neighborhood, etc. and help me be different. Help me not talk the way they do and act the way they do. Help me to be an instrument of love to those around me without compromising my faith. And give me words to speak at the appropriate time to help point them to Christ.
I pray you are willing to Stand In The Gap with God and go against everything your environment says!
