Read Ezekiel chapter 21
“Against You!”
God says to Israel, “I AM AGAINST YOU.” The reason is because of their rebellious lives, therefore God’s Wrath awaits them.
In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus says, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil AGAINST YOU because of me [because of one’s faith in Jesus]. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you”
Notice the difference? When God is AGAINST YOU then comes his Wrath. When people are AGAINST YOU because of your faith in Jesus, then great is your reward in heaven.
Which path are you on? Are you walking the path where God would say, “I AM AGAINST YOU?” Or are you on the path where people would say they are AGAINST YOU?
Sadly, many people are on the path where God is AGAINST them because they want to enjoy the pleasures of this world and don’t want to give it up. Those on the path where people come AGAINST them, because of their faith in Jesus, are committed and sold out for Jesus. They can see the long-term outcome and are willing to suffer for Jesus NOW knowing there’s a great reward that awaits them in heaven. Choose a path today. I pray you choose the path of Christ and commit 100%. Think of the long-term outcome vs focusing on that which brings instant gratification.
