God Wants To Do Something IN and THROUGH Your Life.
Israel’s deeds were so detestable that God compared their life to that of a prostitute. Though they were born amongst ungodly parents, he took them and lavished his love upon them.
From birth he cleaned them. He clothed them with fine linen. He adored them with jewelry. He fed them choice foods. As a result, their beauty was perfect. But rather than be thankful to God for their beauty they used it to enjoy life while feeding their inner desires excluding the Lord.
Like a prostitute, who goes from man to man to fulfill their lustful pleasures, so did Israel pursue other pleasures of life forgetting of the relationship they once had with God.
Does that ever happen with us? You could be rich or poor and still be captivated with the pleasures of this world. We too, could easily take the blessings God has given to us, and be captivated with the blessings rather than be captivated with the One who gives us the blessings. Eventually, it’s the blessings that consume our hearts, rather than being consumed with a growing relationship with the Lord.
God loves you and wants to do something IN and THROUGH your life in helping point others to Jesus. Sadly, that’s often not even a thought process of a Christian. If God blesses you with stuff, enjoy them and be thankful. At the same time you should be asking, “God, how can I also use these blessings to help others in hopes of pointing them to Jesus?”
Maybe your blessing isn’t money or a lot of stuff, but your blessing is your kind words. God wants to use you and your kind words to reach others for Jesus. May it start at home first, then outward.
