Read Ezekiel Chapter 14
What’s Really Going On Inside My Heart, Soul, And Mind?
Some Elders came to Ezekiel the prophet to acquire from the Lord. But God saw that they had set up Idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. God had no desire to let them acquire from him. His desire, instead, was to recapture their hearts for him, so he addressed what he saw on the inside of their heart and not on the outside. He knew they did not love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
In Mark 12:28-31, Jesus was asked which commandment is the greatest of all. He answered, “The greatest commandment is to love the Lord Our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.”
Think about that! Do we really do that? Is there any room for improvement? Lord help us all to see where we fail in this area.
Love God with:
1. All your Heart: it’s all about intensity. You’re driven to be with the Lord and serve him and serve others. Nothing can stop this inner desire. It becomes that important to you.
2. All your Soul: God has given us all a soul so what are we feeding it? Hopefully a daily dose of God’s word.
3. All your Mind: how do you love the Lord with your mind? What do you dwell on? Philippians 4:8-9 says our mind should focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, excellent or praiseworthy. And whatever we learn with our mind for the Lord we should put into practice.
4. All your Strength: means your pursuit of the Lord cannot be overcome by anything or anyone.
God help us all to love you with everything. Teach us how we can love you more.
