Read Ezekiel Chapter 10
Is The Lord In This?
In Ezekiel’s vision, God instructs the man in linen to take burning coals from the glory of God and scatter them over the city. This symbolizes that Jerusalem will be burned when God’s judgment comes upon them. Then the glory of the Lord departed from the temple and exited through the Eastern Gate. The people did not repent so God’s glory was removed from them.
When I think of God’s glory I think of God’s presence in power. Actually words cannot describe the glory of God. Because Israel did not repent God’s glory departed from them. Can you imagine what a relationship would be like without the glory of God and his presence. Can you imagine what anything would be like: your job, your marriage, your ministry, etc. if God is not in it?
I went to a Hope Concert that featured three Christian Artists. The second group performed on stage and stopped halfway through to talk about HOPE. In doing so they never mentioned the name of Jesus. In fact, their words seemed shallow and hollow, lacking the presence of the Spirit of God. I honestly felt in my spirit that they themselves were not connected to Christ in their everyday living. The third group that came out and performed, stopped halfway through. The lead singer got her Bible and started to share from her heart the Brokenness of the world around us and how the answer came through the Hope of Christ. Her words pierced my heart and I felt they were Spirit given. Her words were real and powerful.
Personally, I want a life filled with the Holy Spirit and power. The last thing I want is a life, ministry, marriage, or job without the presence of God – without his glory – without his blessings. God, take away any Pride or lust within me so that my life is a representation of Christ wherever I go and whatever I do.
