Read Daniel Chapter 2:19-49
You’re Not Even Going To Say Thank You?!?
Daniel was literally in a life or death situation and the first thing he did was have himself and three others go before the Lord in prayer. In God’s faithfulness, God revealed the answer to the prayer in the night vision. Then Daniel Blessed the God of Heaven with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving. Daniel was so excited that God revealed himself that he wrote a long prayer of praise and thanksgiving. This is what he said:
Daniel 2:20-23 NIV
[20] Daniel said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. [21] He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. [22] He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. [23] I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”
Once Daniel got started, you couldn’t shut him up. That’s how excited he was. When God answers our prayers or even gives a partial answer, we should be elated!! We should take the time to stop and thank and praise the Lord. Over the years, I’ve been more intentional in spending more time in praising and thanking God.
May we express such delight in our praise and thanksgiving to God as Daniel did.
