Read Amos Chapter 9
You Can Run, But You Cannot Hide.
God is declaring his coming wrath against Israel and says no one will be able to escape his punishment.
1. Some will dig deep into the Earth but God’s hand will take them.
2. Some will try to ascend to the highest place in heaven, and God will take them down.
3. Some will hide in the summit of Carmel, which is noted for thousands of caves to hide in, but the Lord will search them out and take them.
God establishes the fact that he is the one and only true God. He is more powerful than anyone or anything. He created all things and when he speaks things happen. He is subject to no one! His coming wrath cannot be stopped. So for those who say, “God’s Wrath cannot overtake us,” is about to experience a large dose of reality.
The good news is, God is love and has made a way so that we can escape His wrath and that’s through a relationship with Jesus Christ who will forgive us of all our sins. He will fill us with his Holy Spirit who will take our ruined life and rebuild it and restore us. As a result, we will be re-established with value, worth, and purpose. We will become productive in our walk with Christ and bear fruit that impacts lives for the Lord. Plus we have heaven to look forward to for we will be with the Lord forever. This is good news. Don’t run or hide from it.
