Read Acts 9:17-20
SEE, THAT WASN’T SO HARD, WAS IT?
Ananias was instructed by God to go to Saul and pray for his eyes to be healed of blindness and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ananias originally was afraid because Saul was persecuting and arresting Christians and putting them in jail. But God prepared Saul’s heart and Saul welcomed Ananias. After praying, Saul’s eyes could see again and Saul was filled with the Holy Spirit. He got baptized and for several days Sayl spent time with the disciples in Damascus. He immediately began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.
ANANIAS was asked by God to do a hard thing: go and pray for a man that hated Christians. If God calls you to do a hard thing, listen and obey. God’s goal is to bring a transformation in lives. The devil’s goal is to incite fear, to deceive, cause a division between us and God. Because Ananias was obedient, Saul was healed and his heart and life was transformed, and he began to do great things for Jesus. See that wasn’t so hard after all, was it.
SAUL experienced a transformation in his life. He went from hating Jesus and Christians to loving Jesus and Christians. He went from preaching against Jesus to preaching that Jesus is the Son of God. That’s a real transformation.
