Read Acts 6:1-7
Make It A Priority!
As the number of people getting saved and being discipled increased, one sect of Jews complained that another sect of Jews were overlooking the daily distribution of food to the widows. So the 11 disciples of Jesus called the other disciples to choose seven men who would lead the ministry of the feeding of the widows.
The requirements were:
1. The 7 had to be filled with the spirit and wisdom.
2. The church had to make prayer a priority along with the teaching of God’s word.
In doing these things:
1. The needs were being met.
2. The word of God spread.
3. The number of salvations grew rapidly.
4. A large number of Jewish priests became obedient to the faith walk with Jesus.
CHALLENGE:
1. Ask two to five people to pray for you and the ministry God is calling you to.
2. May you make it a priority to pray and read God’s word.
The key factors for growth in you, and growth in others, is making it a priority to pray and be in God’s word. As you do these things you’ll see spiritual growth in your life, plus God will give you opportunities to share the love of Jesus with others.
God, please put somebody in my path today that I can share your love with through kindness or encouraging words.
