Read Acts 5:17-26
PERSECUTION, OPPOSITION, and REJECTION Are The Devil’s Tool To Put Us In Prison So We Don’t Share Jesus.
After seeing and hearing of all the miracles, salvations, and thousands of followers resulting from the apostles teachings, the associates of the Sadducees became very jealous. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. The Lord said, “Go stand in the temple courts and tell the people all about this new life.” And so they did!
In the meantime, in the morning, the high priest and associates called all the religious leaders together and then called for the apostles who were put in prison to be brought before them. After finding out that they were not in the prison, the religious leaders were very confused. Then they saw the apostles teaching in the temple courts. So, they were brought back before the religious leaders for questioning. However, they did not force the apostles for fear the people would stone them.
The Lord has called all of us to share the love of Jesus by our words and our actions. But not everyone accepts this message about Jesus. As a result, we will face opposition, rejection, or even persecution. This is the devil’s tool to put us in prison so that we won’t share Jesus anymore. But Jesus came to set us free from the pain of rejection so we can gain back our faith and confidence, along with a renewed passion and vision to share Jesus again. Don’t give up when you face any kind of opposition, rejection, or persecution. Persevere and keep loving people with kindness and keep telling them about Jesus. Jesus loves them too!
