Don’t Justify Evil. Eventually You’ll Suffer The Consequences.
A man and his wife, Ananias and Sapphira, sold a piece of property with the intent of giving all the money to help the poor and needy. For whatever reason, they had Sellers Remorse and instead of giving all the money to Peter to help others, they secretly kept some for themselves.
When Ananias gave the money to Peter, Peter knew in his spirit that he lied to God and to the people. Ananias listened to the devil and justified his decision to keep some of the money. After being confronted by Peter, Ananias fell and died. 3 hours later, Sapphira showed up not knowing her husband had died. Peter asked her if this was all the money from the sale and she said yes. She too lied to the Holy Spirit resulting in her death as well. Great fear seized all the people who saw or heard what happened.
It doesn’t pay to be sneaky and lie. Eventually there’s going to be consequences.
Years ago when we had the furniture and floor covering business, I figured out how many boxes of floating floor we needed to do a few rooms in a house. After unloading it, my brother noticed I ordered too many boxes.
What do I do? A person of integrity would have told the customer and given them a deduction on their bill. Another option is to take the boxes home and cover up my mistake. I chose the second option and the devil gave me plenty of reasons to justify my decision. And carrying the boxes out of the house, I twisted my ankle bad and hard going down three steps. I truly believe God allowed that to happen because of my choices.
Let us be upright men and women for God and be people of integrity. Don’t justify evil but confront it and shut it down quickly or suffer consequences later.
