How Has Your Life Changed With Jesus? Or Hasn’t It?
One day Peter and John went to the temple to pray. They came across a man who was lame at birth and was begging for money at the gate to the temple courts. The man was carried there every day. That was his life. When Peter and John came by, he asked them for money. They looked at him and Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you but what I do have I give you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth – WALK!
Peter took the man’s hands and helped him up and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong so that he was able to jump to his feet and walk. As he entered the temple courts with Peter and John, he was walking and jumping, and praising God! When the people saw him they were filled with wonder and amazed at what happened to him.
This man’s encounter with God was real. He wasn’t expecting healing. His life routine was all about being carried to the Temple gate every day to beg for money. Then one day, when he was expecting money, his life changed. He had an encounter with Jesus that changed his whole life and his daily routines.
1. He was no longer carried to the Temple Gates to beg for money. Instead, he was now entering through the temple Gates to praise God.
2. He went from deep despair to having joy in his life.
3. He went from hopelessness to finding value and significance with his life.
4. He went from not having a testimony to now having a testimony for Jesus that could be shared with others.
How has your whole life changed because of Jesus, including your daily routines?
1. Where were you “LAME?” Physically, Spiritually, Emotionally, or Mentally?
2. Have your routines changed? Do you find that some of the places and people you hung out with has changed? Do you find that church, fellowship with other believers, and reading God’s word has a whole new meaning to you now?
3. Can you see more clearly the value, significance, and purpose that God has for you? Has joy replaced despair and hopelessness?
4. Can you see how your life has now changed? You now have a testimony for Jesus? Have you ever shared it with anyone?
