Read Acts 2:43
God is All About Wonders and Signs.
As the body of Christ devoted themselves in a unified manner for the Lord, verse 43 says, “Everyone was filled with awe at the many Wonders and Signs performed by the apostles.”
I’m trying to soak this all in. It blows my mind to think that when the church is unified and devoted to the Lord, the church will be blown away by many Wonders and Signs performed by the church and the people. What are these wonders and signs?
1. I have seen “bad kids” attend our Elementary Ministry on Wednesdays after school and it has gone from “This is going to be a disaster” to “a noticeable transformation” in their lives. Why? I’d have to say because the church *Devoted themselves to prayer. *They devoted themselves in helping the kids succeed in the ministry challenges. *They invested into the lives of the kids in love. *Lastly, because boundaries were established.
As a result, we saw fruit come from the ministry: a transformation in the lives of the kids and even families beginning to come to church and Sunday School.
2. Last Sunday a mom and her son came to church for the first time because someone invited them. They sat with my daughter and her boys. After the service the lady said to my daughter Rachel, “Is that it?” Rachel said, “Yes, why?” She responded, “Because it was refreshing and inspiring. I just assumed a sermon was about condemning people because of how bad they are. I could go to a church like this because it was uplifting.”
Wonders and Signs aren’t just “Revival in the land,” but it is also revival in one person’s heart when they come to a new revelation about God.
I performed a funeral service for an elderly man who died but accepted Jesus on his deathbed. It was all orchestrated by God. I just happened to be at the hospital visiting someone and saw the family and asked to pray. Later, one of the family members shared Jesus with the man and he accepted Christ. Afterwards, the wife gave her life to the Lord and is now committed to a church.
Lord, I devote myself to you, to the church, and to the ministry of the church. Use me!
