Read Acts 2:42

Don’t Be A Lone Ranger.

At Pentecost, there were around 3,000 Jews who responded to the gospel of Jesus. They devoted themselves to the apostles teachings, to the fellowship with one another, to the breaking of bread, and to praying. These four principles are still important for today.

1. DEVOTED TO THE APOSTLES TEACHINGS: What’s exciting about God’s word is that you can always be learning something new because the Holy Spirit will continue to take TRUTH and use it to transform lives. For those who want to be lone rangers and not invest in the teachings of others are missing out.

2. DEVOTED TO THE FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER BELIEVERS: Not fellowshipping with other believers opens the door to bad decisions. It’s that fellowship with others that helps hold us accountable to living the Godly life God is calling us to. We need each other. There is so much we can learn from one another. And there’s so much we can offer the church that becomes a blessing to others and glorifying to God.

3. DEVOTED TO THE BREAKING OF BREAD: The breaking of bread seems to have both positive benefits for the physical and spiritual body. The breaking of bread and eating together is a great way to fellowship and learn more about each other and learn of praises and of needs. But you can’t have the breaking of bread without remembering the Lord’s Last Supper in regards to his broken body and shed blood for us.

4. DEVOTED TO PRAYING: Constant communication with God is a great way to remember it’s his power we need to rely on for our lives. Taking matters into our own hands is a huge mistake. Lone rangers like to do things their way and God can easily get kicked out. May we always have a humble heart and humbly submit our life and will to the Lord and stop the “I Got This” attitude. We need Jesus and we need one another. The Lone Ranger is susceptible to pride and pride opens the door for the enemy to enter. Let’s be the body of Christ that we are called to: United and working together under the Lordship of Jesus and His Holy Spirit.
