Peter and Joel Are Talking About Us!
During the celebration of the Festival of Weeks, the disciples of Jesus were filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in the approximate 15 different languages of all the Jews from around the world. When the Jews heard the wonders of God declared in their own language, some were bewildered and amazed, and some accused the disciples of being drunk at 9:00 a.m. in the morning. This is when Peter stood up in boldness and addressed the crowd.
WHEN’S THE LAST TIME WE STOOD UP IN BOLDNESS TO ADDRESS EVIL THAT WAS OPPOSING GOD’S TRUTH?
We can’t sit quietly and watch evil prevail when we have the hope of Christ to set people free from the bondage of sin and deception.
As Peter addressed the crowd, he said, “Listen Carefully!” The people are not drunk but are fulfilling what God said through the prophet Joel: God said I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your son and daughters will prophesy, men and old men will see vision and dream dreams. Men and women will prophesy and great wonders and signs will be performed on Earth.
The prophet Joel is talking about us! We are the men and women, and the sons and daughters who God wants to do a transformation both in and through.
There is now a new world order and that’s called Jesus. Satan has been the ruler of Earth keeping people in bondage of sin. But now Christ has appeared to Earth, he died and rose from the dead, and now gives hope for salvation to the Lost and those deceived in this world. I want to be a part of this new world order: Jesus!
