Read Acts 11:1-21
Do You See The Urgency?
The apostles and believers throughout Judea heard how the Gentiles (non-Jews) also received the word of God and were saved. So when Peter went to Jerusalem, the believers criticized him for going into the house of a Gentile for they were considered spiritually unclean. But Peter explained how God gave him a vision to begin preaching even to the non Jews because God loved them also, and wanted them to receive the Holy Spirit and be saved. For God’s salvation is meant for everyone. The people rejoiced with Peter regarding this. In fact, in the area of Antioch, the good news of Jesus was being preached more and more to non-Jews. A great number of them were repenting of their sins and turning to the Lord for salvation.
I’m amazed at how these believers were committed to sharing Jesus with others. It became a natural part of their lives. They saw the urgency of seeing more and more people saved. Am I missing something? Today, have believers in Jesus lost the urgency of taking advantage of every opportunity to share Jesus with others?
God, I make myself available to you. Help me see the urgency of sharing Jesus with others, and use me to share Jesus with them so they can be saved.
