Psalms Chapter 98
God’s Salvation And Righteousness
The psalmist instructs God’s people to sing to the Lord a new song because he has done marvelous things. He even says to shout for joy. Burst into jubilant song. Make music (with all kinds of instruments and with singing).
The psalmist says God has revealed and made known his salvation and righteousness. This is important because the Lord will one day judge the nation in “righteousness” and “equity.”
So God is making known his salvation which comes through Jesus his son. We can only enter into heaven when our sin problem is taken care of. When God looks at us he does not want to see our sin problem he wants to see the righteousness of Jesus. That only happens when we ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior. Have you done that? If so, then do as the psalmist said: sing and shout for joy and make music with a jubilant heart. If Christ is not in your life, then let today be the day you surrender your heart to the Lord for a renewed life in Christ.
