Psalms Chapter 91
Where Is Your Dwelling Place?
The psalmist challenges us to find our dwelling place in the Lord. There shouldn’t be any other option. To choose to dwell in the presence of the Lord is to choose to have him be the master of your life. It’s recognizing that you can’t function without him. Once our hearts begin to fade away from the Lord, then our hearts begin to dwell in the things of the world. Then we begin to lose a heart connection with the Lord. In essence we become increasingly self-reliant versus God reliant. This is a dangerous place to be.
I want to be in the presence of the Lord always! The psalmist says it’s then that we find his rest. It’s then he becomes our refuge and fortress. It’s then we can trust him for our present and our future. He will be faithful. You won’t have to live in fear. He’ll protect us. He’ll love us more than anyone or anything, so don’t forsake the Lord.
Where is your dwelling place? Where is your heart really at? Is it all about the Lord? Or all about pursuing things of this world?
