Psalms Chapter 90
I Don’t Want My Life To Be A Waste.
Chapter 90 is a prayer of Moses to God.
1. Exalts God. He starts his prayer by exalting God. He declares Him as having always been his people’s dwelling place. He declares Him as an everlasting God who always was and will always be.
2. God’s people are Sinners. Then Moses declares that they, on the other hand, are sinners. And as a result, they have faced God’s anger and wrath.
3. Help Me Grow! Then Moses cries out to God acknowledging that life is short. Because of that he doesn’t want his life to be a waste. Therefore He wants to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. May that be our hearts desire. May we want to grow closer to the Lord and grow more and more into his image. May this drive us to his Holy Word and be filled with his wisdom and spirit.
4. When we fail. Moses realizes they’ll make mistakes and asks God to show compassion and help his people return to him in a restored and renewed relationship that they may then sing for joy and become God’s servants. May we also desire to be God’s servant so that we can serve God and serve others. So that at the end of life on Earth we won’t have any regrets for not doing more. I don’t want my life to be a waste. I surrender it to Jesus!
