Psalms Chapter 87
Acknowledging God or Self.
The psalmist makes great comments about Zion, also known as Jerusalem, God’s dwelling place. People say glorious things about God’s City and also about other nations that acknowledge the Lord. This is a short passage but a great deal of focus on those born in Zion who have lived the life acknowledging the Lord God.
If this chapter was written today would our names be mentioned as ones who also acknowledged God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength? Or would we be identified as the ones who spent more time on acknowledging ourselves? In the last 7 days have you spent more time acknowledging the glorious things of the Lord or have you spent more time acknowledging yourself, whether it be your problems (which the Lord wants to carry for you) or acknowledging your accomplishments with a prideful heart (which God wants acknowledged for)?
