Psalms Chapter 81
Love To Worship…On Sundays!
God’s people have gathered together to sing for joy to the Lord and are instructed to do so with many musical instruments. While the people are singing and playing their instruments, a prophet speaks out and confronts God’s people to quit serving other gods. They’re to quit living in disobedience to the Lord! They’re told that if they want all of God’s blessings, they must let go of that which hurts their relationship with the Lord.
Worship for God can’t be just what we do on Sunday or Wednesday nights. Worship is to be what we do everyday. It’s what we do when we’re around our peers, our family, our workplace.
God’s people were confronted for worshiping at church but living in sin the other days of the week. “OUCH!” We are instructed to worship the Lord with all of our hearts, soul, mind, and strength.
Yes, people see us singing and worshiping the Lord at church with our hands lifted up or on our knees before God. But after church where is our heart? Is our lifestyle and choices we make still a reflection of worship to the Lord or are we compromising our faith the rest of the week to fulfill the craving of our sin nature? You want all that God has for you? Then let go of that which stands between you and the Lord.
