Psalms Chapter 62
Don’t!!!
The psalmist, with great emphasis says, “Truly my soul finds rest in God, my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and salvation…and fortress….”
The psalmist says this in the midst of attacks from his enemies who speak lies and give curses. Even then he declares, “Trust in God at all times…pour out your heart to him.”
Yesterday, a friend of mine, that I’ve known for about 45 years, met death. She was in battle for many years dealing with a lot of different physical problems. At an age when you feel she should be enjoying life, instead she finds herself in constant physical battle. She fought hard and she kept the faith clear to the end.
There are other things in life that can wear us down. There have been times I have even said, “Take me home Lord!” The psalmist was going through a lot mentally and spiritually yet declared he would keep trusting God. I’m sure there were days though he just wanted to give up and go home.
Perhaps, you’re going through something and there are days you want to give up. DON’T!! Keep trusting God as the psalmist did. Continue to find your rest, salvation, and strength in the Lord. DON’T quit trusting him! DON’T ride this road by yourself. I, and I’m sure many others, would gladly be a support to you in these times. DON’T give up!
