Psalms Chapter 48
Great is the Lord and Most Worthy of Praise!
The psalmist says in verse 1 that, “Great is the Lord and Most Worthy of Praise!”
Do we believe that? If I say that I love my wife and do nothing to show I love her, then my actions don’t support my words. My words mean nothing. There’s an old saying that says don’t tell me you love me, show it.
If I truly believe that “Great is the Lord” then there will be actions that support my proclamation. Some of my actions will be the giving of praise to him for he is worthy of praise. Other actions will include my level of commitment to him on a daily basis. I’ll want to spend time with the Lord and I’ll be conscious of the positive things in life that will result in praise and thanksgiving to him. The negative things in life will only draw Me closer to the Lord because I know that he is GREAT and will help me through all things. I’ll praise him both during the good and the bad days because he is worthy of praise and I can trust Him.
CHALLENGE:
Make verse 1 your goal today that throughout the day you’ll say, “Great are you Lord” and then stop and praise him for all he does and for all you see throughout the day. In fact, see how many things you become aware of that normally you typically overlook. Blessings!
